SUMMARY:The Story of the Day We Prevented the End of the World
DESCRIPTION:Kollektivt arbeid av ledende kunstnere fra mer enn 12 land. Prosjektets kunstneriske ledelse er ved Eduardo Felix.\n«Historien om dagen vi forhindret verdens ende» er et skaperverksted som kulminerer i konstruksjonen av en mekanisk installasjon\, tenkt som et fiktivt monument over dagen menneskeheten klarte å forhindre verdens ende. \nProsjektet er basert på en tenkt retrospektiv fortelling: historien fortelles som om katastrofen allerede er unngått. Ikke som en heroisk seier\, men som en serie små gester\, gjentatte handlinger og skjøre kollektive anstrengelser – poetiske\, ironiske og noen ganger absurde.\nProsjektet er også konseptuelt inspirert av «Ideas to Postpone the End of the World» av Ailton Krenak\, som gjenspeiler ideen om at det å forestille seg andre fremtider – selv temporære eller skjøre – allerede er en politisk og poetisk handling. \nEduardo Felix er en teaterskulptør som arbeider på tvers av figurteater\, regi\, scenografi\, dramatisering\, skuespillermanipulasjon og kostymedesign. Han har en grad i skulptur fra Escola de Belas Artes ved UFMG og har vært aktiv i profesjonelt teater siden 2001. Han er grunnlegger og kunstnerisk leder av Pigmalião Escultura que Mexe\, hvor han utvikler sin kunstneriske forskning og pedagogiske praksis. Arbeidene hans har blitt presentert gjennom forestillinger\, workshops og kunstneriske residenser i Brasil og internasjonalt. Som forfatter og regissør har han skapt en rekke verk fra 2007 til i dag. Pigmaliao besøkte FiF i 2023 med forestillingen «Antropofagiske fabler for fascistiske dager». \n“Bringing together artists from different countries to create something collectively in such a short time feels important to me not just as a working format\, but as a gesture in itself. We are living through a time of many crises\, and somehow the simple act of coming together to imagine how we might avoid the end of the world already feels like a way of postponing it. The Artistic direction of the project is by Eduardo Felix.\nThe Story of the Day We Prevented the End of the World is a creation workshop that culminates in the construction of a collective mechanical panel\, conceived as a fictional monument to the day humanity managed to prevent the end of the world.\nThe project is based on an imagined retrospective narrative: the story is told as if the catastrophe had already been avoided. Not as a heroic victory\, but as a series of small gestures\, repeated actions\, and fragile collective efforts — poetic\, ironic\, and sometimes absurd.\nThe project is also conceptually inspired by Ideas to Postpone the End of the World\, by Ailton Krenak\, echoing the idea that imagining other futures — even provisional or fragile ones — is already a political and poetic act.\nEduardo Felix is a theatrical sculptor working across puppetry\, directing\, scenography\, playwriting\, acting–manipulation and costume design. He holds a degree in Sculpture from the Escola de Belas Artes at UFMG and has been active in professional theater since 2001. SUMMARY:Camille Trouvé i samtale med Yngvild Aspeli
DESCRIPTION:Camille Trouvé trained in puppetry in Glasgow\, upon her return to France she pursued continuing education at ESNAM (National School of Puppet Arts)\, notably with the English company Green Ginger. Her mentor in shadow and light is the Italian puppeteer Fabrizio Montecchi.\nIn 2000\, she and Brice Berthoud founded the company Les Anges au Plafond (Angels on the Ceiling)\, structuring their artistic language around three main themes: the epic sweep of storytelling\, the question of space\, and the gesture of manipulation\, visible or invisible. Together\, they have created 13 theatrical shows and experiences\, working in tandem and staging each other. Their performances explore the complex relationship between manipulator and object\, the distance it creates\, and the incongruity and humour it sometimes allows.\nIn October 2021\, Camille Trouvé and Brice Berthoud became co-directors of the Centre Dramatique National de Normandie\, in Rouen\, to develop a transdisciplinary project called Vivant! \nYngvild Aspeli is a Director\, actress\, puppeteer and puppet-maker. She studied at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris (2003-2005) and at ESNAM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette) in Charleville-Mézières (2005-2008). \nWithin her French-Norwegian company Plexus Polaire\, she has directed six shows: Signals (2011)\, Opera Opaque (2013)\, Ashes (2014)\, Chambre noire (2017)\, Moby Dick (2020)\, Dracula Lucy’s Dream (2021)\, A Doll’s House (2023) and Trust me for a while (2025). \nYngvild is currently an associated artist at CDN Dijon-Bourgogne (France). She is also the artistic director of Figurteatret i Nordland (Nordland Visual Theatre) in Stamsund\, Norway. \nThe conversation will be held in English.

Svarte kjemper nådeløst for å vinne sine borgerrettigheter.\nOmgitt av denne urbane volden adopterer Romain Gary og hans kone\, skuespillerinnen Jean Seberg\, en bortkommen schæferhund og kaller ham Batka. Selv om deres nye kjæledyr virker søtt og hengivent\, er han ingen vanlig hund. Nå og da er han full av villskap\, som om han er overveldet av sin ulveaktige natur. Og så – helt uten forvarsel går det kjente gradvis i oppløsning og viker for det grusomme. \n«Hva er galt med denne hunden?» \nMenneskene fordyper seg i å forstå dyrets oppførsel og prøver å redde dens liv. \nEtter å ha skapt forestillingen R.A.G.E.\, fortsetter Les Anges au Plafond å belyse Romain Garys humanisme. DESCRIPTION:The Swallowing of Contours is a living\, interactive installation that brings together puppetry\, visual and sound performances in an immersive experience.  \nThrough suspended and interconnected structures\, it explores shifts in scale and the latent life of the elements that compose it\, creating a universe that is both concrete and surreal. Svarte kjemper nådeløst for å vinne sine borgerrettigheter.\nOmgitt av denne urbane volden adopterer Romain Gary og hans kone\, skuespillerinnen Jean Seberg\, en bortkommen schæferhund og kaller ham Batka. Selv om deres nye kjæledyr virker søtt og hengivent\, er han ingen vanlig hund. Nå og da er han full av villskap\, som om han er overveldet av sin ulveaktige natur. Blacks struggle relentlessly to win their civil rights.\nSurrounded by this urban violence\, Romain Gary and his wife\, actress Jean Seberg\, adopt a stray german shepherd\, and name him Batka. Although their new pet seems sweet and affectionate\, he is no ordinary canine. Now and then\, he bristles with savagery\, as if overcome by his wolfish nature. SUMMARY:The form of light
DESCRIPTION:Exploring the form and other qualities of light in puppetry and visual theatre. \nThe workshop will be held in English. \nJarkko Forsman is one of Finland’s most prominent lighting designers specializing in puppetry. \nHe has designed lighting for dozens of trailblazing puppetry performances and has been an essential factor in the development of contemporary Finnish puppetry. \nForsman has also designed lighting for immersive and site specific theatre\, operas\, dance performances\, festivals and exhibitions. He has also worked as set designer\, performer\, videographer and light artist.  In 2021 Forsman won the State Award for Performing Arts as part of the artistic core team of Book of Rooms\, a gigantic\, immersive multisensory performance made by a group of one hundred artists. His  latest work\, Kindred machine is nominated for the honorary award of the Finnish Light\, Sound\, and Video Designers Association for the lighting design. \nIn his work\, Forsman explores the relationship between space and light\, the form and mass of light\, and other characteristics as part of dramaturgy of performance. DESCRIPTION:Verdens siste fugl bakser seg inn på en liten bar ved universets ende. Der står en fortapt astronaut og mikser musikk og drinker. Ned i glassets tomhet\, og med astronauten og publikum som vitner\, synger fuglen sin historie. Fuglen synger om fugler som faller fra himmelen. Den synger med forundring\, fascinasjon og forakt for menneskenes uvitenhet. Den synger om alt som forsvinner.\nDette er en apokalyptisk figurteatersaga om en verden i brann\, døende fugler og en hel masse mennesker som tror de har forklaringen på naturens adferd. \nI 2011 falt tusenvis av fugler plutselig og på uforklarlig vis ned fra himmelen. DESCRIPTION:What is the situation for puppeteers and theatre artists in Ukraine and Palestine? \nIntroductions by Dr.Daria Ivanovna-Hololobova (Unima Ukraine)\, Marina Barham (Director of Al-Harah theatre in Hebron) and Husam Abed (Dafa Theatre and artist at FiF). \nDr.Daria Ivanovna-Hololobovna is a director\, cultural manager and researcher. She is President of Unima Ukraine. Lecturer at Kyiv National I.K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre. Expert of Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. Researcher at Heinrich heine University in Düsseldorf. Curator and participant of international artistic and educational projects. \nMarina Barham is co-founder and General Director of Al-Harah Theater and has been an active cultural operator in Palestine\, the Middle East and Europe since 1998. She was President of the Palestinian Performing Arts Network from 2019-2021. Alongside producing theatre productions\, for the last 23 years\, she has managed international\, regional & local tours and Euro Med Projects\, and curated Palestine International Theater Festival for Children & Youth\, Yalla Yalla Street Festival and Bethlehem Site-Specific Theatre Festival in Palestine. Al-Harah Theater believes that theatre has the potential to change the lives of those who make it and those who watch it. \nHusam Abed is a Palestinian Jordanian versatile artist with multilayered projects in his art career. He is a theatre creator\, director\, performer\, puppeteer\, musician and producer living in Prague\, Czech Republic. He started his practice-based research PhD at Bath Spa University/UK. He holds a Master of directing for Drama and theatre at Alternative and Puppet Theatre faculty/ Academy of Performing Arts/Czech Republic. He is known for his puppet theatre work under: Dafa Puppet Theatre\, a multi-awarded theatre company based in Prague. Dafa was co-founded by Husam Abed and his wife\, a Hungarian puppeteer and stage designer Reka Deak in 2015. As a community theatre maker and facilitator\, he believes in theatre as a public practice\, a tool for social change\, for rewriting personal and collective history and for finding new narrations. Theatre for him is a style of life and existence more than an art form: a medium for expression\, communication\, inclusion and connecting through differences. The themes and visions in his work focused on exile\, war\, home\, dreams\, man vs nature\, family relations\, human relations’ cruelty and daily struggles. \nAt 18.00 Husam Abed is performing «War maker». DESCRIPTION:Møt Bydyra! I 2017 ga progbandet Tusmørke ut ei barneplate om Kråka\, Ekornet og Grevlingens reise fra den ødelagte skogen til den store byen (den forstenede skogen\, for de som veit). I byen prøver dyra å få de nye livene sine til å funke. Det er mye å undre seg over i menneskenes verden. Bydyra forstår snart at folk har mer å lære av dem enn omvendt.\nTusmørke har gitt ut enda to plater for barn og spilt konserter over hele landet der de dramatiserer deler av handlingen og spiller et utvalg av låtene fra skiva. Tusmørke spiller i kostymer og appellerer til både voksne og barn i alle aldre. Tekstene har et tydelig budskap om miljøvern og dyrevelferd.

DESCRIPTION:Opposable Thumb Theatre will be leading a short\, sharp shock workshop in ‘Cluppetry’\nWhat’s ‘Cluppetry’? you ask.\nWell it’s a heady mixture of clown & puppetry. \nTogether Adam Blake (Open Attic and Wyldwood Arts) & Dik Downey (Pickled Image and Green Ginger) will impart years of experience in clowning and puppetry in one big \, experiential blob.\nWe take classic clowning workshop exercises and age old puppetry techniques and chuck them into a theatrical blender and marvel at the ‘Cluppetry’ that emerges. \nThese workshops will incorporate clowning games such as status hierarchy\, imitation/exaggeration and embracing your failures\, as well as looking at the intricacies of puppetry\, like breath\, focus and movement. Then we examine the role of puppeteer versus clown\, clown as puppet\, puppet as clown and everything in between. Since 2007\, he has toured the globe with his captivating one-man puppet shows\, performing across six continents. His artistry has earned him prestigious awards worldwide and cemented his reputation as a pioneer in the world of puppetry.\nBence is proud to have been the first Hungarian solo puppeteer to perform two of his shows in the “IN” program of the Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes in Charleville-Mézières\, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious events in puppetry. The following year\, he was honored to be invited back as a «super guest\,» becoming the first international artist to receive this recognition.\n​\nBence’s passion for marionettes began at the age of 20\, when he was captivated by the art form’s intricate complexity and the unique blend of skills it demanded. With a background in woodworking\, mechanical structures\, music\, and dance—including ballroom\, salsa\, and tango—Bence weaves a rich tapestry of influences into his work.
