DESCRIPTION:A workshop for students and professionals with the excellent artists Rute Ribeiro and Luis Vieira\, Artistic directors of A Tarùmba company and Fimfa festival in Lisboa. \nThe workshop is intended to be a laboratory of research and experimentation under The Shadow Theatre\, with the main objective of demonstrating the specificity of this millennial form of theatre\, its deep particularities\, its own register of sensitivities and emotions.\nThe participants are invited to experiment and enter in the world of light and shadows. DESCRIPTION:In this intensive workshop\, Yael Rasooly invites the participants on a creative journey into The universe of Object theatre.\nParticipants will explore the dialogue and relationship between the performer/ character and «ready made» objects. We will be looking at objects that are charged\, its symbolic associations\, or objects that hold an emotional cargo\, from personal memory and story. We will be doing exercises and improvisations in groups\, and also touching on the  theme of individual solo creation\, a starting point for future development. The human body and the animal body\, the living and the artificial\, the flesh and wood\, the wires and the blood are here tools to open new spaces of discussion\, because even fables require a certain protocol before the massacre.\nIt is a scenic project that uses classical string puppets and hyper-realistic masks on silicon\, crossing visual arts\, theater and contemporary philosophy to reflect on this historical moment we all live. The humour of this work is born from absurd situations\, unexpected metaphors\, which seek to make the public reflect on the balance of power in their daily lives through situations where animals devour each other.

DESCRIPTION:The challenge for this workshop is based on the creation of characters using the agglomeration of objects from the most varied origins\, more or less suggestive\, that allow the development of a functional and expressive puppet.\nThe focus is on the potential of objects. Men i byen er det ikke bare lys\, det er også skygger – og Aurora går seg vill. Kommer hun noen gang tilbake til de skogkledde fjellene?\nNatur og tradisjoner i nasjonalparken Peneda Gerês nord i Portugal er inspirasjonskilden til denne forestillingen\, som i sin helhet er skapt ved å gjenbruke figurer\, materialer og scenografiske elementer fra andre forestillinger. \nMarionetas de Mandragora ledes av Clara Ribeiro\, Felipa Mesquita og enVide neFelibata. Aurora is born\, and every day the mountain is filled with light and color. Every day Aurora takes care of the plants\, trees and animals. But one day everything changes… her forest is devastated by a huge fire that forces her to flee to another space. And so Aurora discovers the city\, which seems wonderful and full of light. But in the city\, not everything is light\, there is shadow\, and Aurora gets lost on a path that may have no return.\n \nThe rediscovery of nature\, traditions and roots of the Peneda Gerês National Park and the north of Portugal is at the basis for the show. \nThe entire project is created plastically from the reuse of objects whether in puppets\, scenography or costumes.\nMarionetas de Mandragora was formed in 2002\, and is based in Espinho\, near Porto. With magical puppetry\, dance and performance they transform this sensitive topic in a dark and poetic tale. The documentary invites the audience into the research and personal experience of the makers. The film is spun through the performance and tilts it with a relentless agility into the here and now.

Hvem manipulerer hvem?\nInstallasjonen kombinerer figurteater\, automata og robotics med 3D printing og utforsker vårt forhold til teknologi og den ustabile verden vi omgir oss med. \nIdeen til The NoughtyOne kom under lockdown i pandemien. Da det ikke var mulig å turnere og vise forestillinger\, kom muligheten for nye ideer og prosjekter. Nik var nysgjerrig på hvordan figurmaking kunne utvikles med moderne 3D printing\, og hvordan koding og automatisering kunne gjøres mer forståelig gjennom figurteater. På bakgrunn av disse ideene\, og mange lange samtaler\, ble The NoughtyOne til. \nThe NoughtyOne er skapt av Nik Palmer og Sarah Rowland-Barker\, blant annet gjennom et Artist in Residence opphold  i Fossekleiva kultursenter i 2022. \nI Prøvesalen. \n— \nThe NoughtyOne \nWelcome to the mesmerising world of The Noughty One.  \nImmerse yourself in the sights and sounds of a hybrid world driven by technology and crafted with puppetry techniques. Get up close to the action: Who is in control and who is being manipulated? Is this replication or creation? What exactly IS the story here?\nThe Noughty One is the latest creation from Noisy Oyster\, a multi award-winning\, international puppet theatre company. This installation fuses puppetry\, automata\, and robotics with 3D printing manufacture to explore our relationship with technology and the mercurial nature of the human world.\nThe Noughty One started as an idea during Lockdown. With the usual schedule of touring and performing stopped overnight\, we started to think about other projects and ideas. Nik was interested in how traditional marionette making could be developed with 3D printing\, and how coding and automating principles inherent in 3D printing and robotics might be made more comprehensible using puppetry. How could all these different principles\, ideas and skills learn from each other? From these questions and many\, many discussions The NoughtyOne was born. \nCreated by Nik Palmer and Sarah Rowland-Barker\, developed through an Artist in Residence period at Fossekleiva kultursenter in 2022. \nThe Noughty One Team\nNik Palmer & Sarah Rowland Barker – Co-directors of Noisy Oyster Nik and Sarah are the key creative team on this project\, based on an original idea from Nik. Nik is the main designer and maker for this project\, using his skills and knowledge in 3D printing and traditional puppetry craft to design and create the installation. You can find out more about Nik’s other 3D printing projects here Sarah is designing and making the costumes for the different characters within the installation. She is also bringing her dance knowledge into the project to advise and support Nik on developing the automated movement. \nUpfront Gallery and Arts Venue – Noisy Oyster were artists in residence at Upfront Gallery and Arts Venue in 2021. They used this time to develop many of the elements of The Noughty One. The Nought One will be installed at Upfront later in 2022 as part of an exciting new puppetry exhibition\, prior to touring. \nNoisy Oyster are also working with guidance and consultation from: \nNicholas Willsher – Robotics Consultant – Nick is a freelance fabricator and creative technologist based in Bristol. His practice explores the anthropomorphisation of objects: in software\, puppetry and robotics. \nDr Ivan Damnjanovic – Coding Consultant – Ivan is multimedia researcher and software engineer with over eighteen years of experience. He is supporting Nik in developing the coding for the puppetry movement. \nRachel McNally – Co-Producer – Rachel was previously Executive Producer at Puppet Place is a co-producer of Bristol Festival of Puppetry. She is now a freelance creative producer. \nStephan Mottram – Artistic Mentor – Stephen is a highly respected performer/sculptor/artist working with puppetry and automata. He has toured internationally and supports Nik in developing the theatrical and dramatic elements of the installation. \nTim Hunkin – Artistic Mentor – Tim is an engineer and cartoonist. He brings his expertise as a maker of automata to The Noughty One. \nIn Prøvesalen.

Vi befinner oss et sted mellom Melodi Grand Prix og Russland på 1970-tallet. Stilen er i høyeste grad kitsch. \nKunstneriske ledere i A Tarumba er Rute Ribeiro og Luis Vieira. De startet kompaniet i 1993 ut fra et ønske om å spre og promotere figurteater og visuelt teater.\nSiden starten har det blitt mange forestillinger og mange turneer for A Tarumba. Kompaniet har spilt over hele Europa\, og blant annet i Brasil\, Argentina\, Pakistan og India. Kompaniet har fått mange priser. De fikk pris for beste dramaturgi under Worlds Festival of Puppet Theatre i Praha\, der ble de også nominert til prisen for beste figurteaterspill. Og forestillingene Mironescópio: The Love Machine og This is not the Gogol’s Nose\, but it could be… with a dash by Jacques Prévert ble vist i hovedprogrammet under Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionettes de Charleville-Mézières i 2013 og 2019. \nLuis Vieira og Rute Ribeiro vil også holde en workshop under årets FiF. \nThe relevance of having a nose\, of not getting one’s nose out of joint\, of not sticking one’s nose where it does not belong\, of being toffee-nosed or just being nosey!\nAnd what about Jacques Prévert? «To tell you the truth\, he did not look like anyone.»\nA short form show with an abundance of noses. \nInspired by Gogol’s and Jacques Prévert’s worlds\, this production uses objects and paper-made articulated figures to create an original and kitsch collage somewhere between the Eurovision Song Contest and Russia in the 1970s. A surreal performance that offers an excess of noses\, pop-culture references and blond people in powerful positions. Absurd situations hide\, in filigree\, a satirical criticism of the contemporary world. A cadavre exquis of scenes played with nonsense and a bit of surreal vibe. \nEven if happiness forgets you a little bit\, never completely forget about it.\n– Jacques Prévert \nWe do not know what period this pair belongs\, but it seems they are lost in time. They seem to have the power to move the world and manipulate their leaders… They use words as if they were in a game of chess and messing everything. Where are they? In an abandoned campsite or in a decadent amusement park\, but with a lot of glitter and full of objects and images? Unusual and hilarious situations follow each other\, between the lines we notice the references of this rotating wheel of absurd numbers. But at the end it seems to have the meaning of the world that we are living in\, i.e.\, it doesn’t make any sense. Reality has surpassed fiction. And the most important? DESCRIPTION:Endelig kommer Compagnie La Pendue til Norge med denne perlen av en forestilling!\nLiv og død utspiller seg når en gammel kvinne står overfor slutten av livet. Hennes tid er kommet\, øyeblikket som skal avgjøres av Tria Fata\, de tre skjebnene som spinner livets tråd\, som måler den ut og som bestemmer når den skal kuttes. Men den gamle kvinnen kan utsette det uunngåelige ved å tilby skjebnene en beretning om livet sitt. \nTria Fata viser det spennende forholdet en marionett kan utvikle med sin skaper/manipulator\, dens overraskende frihet og uavhengighet. Martin Kaspar Lauchlis lydbilde av klarinett\, trekkspill\, trommer og stemme orkestrerer dette deilige mysteriet. \nLa Pendue ble dannet i 2003 av Estelle Charlier og Romuald Collinet\, uteksaminerte fra Frankrikes berømte nasjonale dukketeaterskole i Charleville Mezieres. Produksjonene deres har turnert til mer enn tretti land over hele verden. \nFremført på fransk\, med engelske sur-titles.
