Laurence Petitpas (Canada): The Swallowing of Contours (Roots and the bassoon)

The Swallowing of Contours er en levende, interaktiv installasjon som kombinerer figurteater, lyd og visuelle elementer i en totalopplevelse.
Gjennom hengende og sammenkoblede strukturer skapes et univers som er både konkret og surrealistisk. Ved å strekke seg mellom installasjon og teatralitet inviterer det publikum til å bevege seg fritt gjennom et fragmentert landskap der ulike fortellinger formes hos hver enkelt.

Laurence Petitpas og Yana Ouellet begynte arbeidet med å utvikle denne forestillingen under sitt to måneders residensopphold i Fossekleiva høsten 2024.

The Swallowing of Contours is a living, interactive installation that brings together puppetry, visual and sound performances in an immersive experience. 

Through suspended and interconnected structures, it explores shifts in scale and the latent life of the elements that compose it, creating a universe that is both concrete and surreal. Straddling installation and theatricality, it invites the audience to move freely through a fragmented landscape where porous narratives emerge according to individual perceptions.
Laurence Petitpas and Yana Ouellet spent two months in Fossekleiva in 2024, where they began the development of this show.
